STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 9228 IN ASSEMBLY February 4, 2016 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SEPULVEDA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to establishing the crime of terrorism recruitment, a class C felony The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The penal law is amended by adding a new section 490.60 to 2 read as follows: 3 § 490.60 Terrorism recruitment. 4 A person is guilty of terrorism recruitment when, with intent that 5 another person engage in conduct constituting any crime set forth in 6 this article, he or she recruits, solicits, requests, commands, impor- 7 tunes or otherwise attempts to cause such other person to engage in such 8 conduct. 9 Terrorism recruitment is a class C felony. 10 § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- 11 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
