STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10699 IN ASSEMBLY August 28, 2024 ___________ Introduced by COMMITTEE ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. Steck) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to protecting remote workers who reside out-of-state under New York state's human rights law The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 298-b 2 to read as follows: 3 § 298-b. Application of article to out-of-state employees. The 4 provisions of this article shall apply as hereinafter provided to 5 employers that maintain a physical address in the state of New York and 6 to employees, regardless of the location where such employees perform 7 work. 8 § 2.
