Senate Resolution No. 205

        COMMENDING   Community   Options,  Inc.  upon  the
        occasion of hosting its 17th Annual Cupid's Chase 5k
        Races on February 8, 2025

  WHEREAS, It is the sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  to  recognize
organizations  of  noble  aims  and accomplishments for their charitable
endeavors which serve New York communities at large; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commend Community Options, Inc. upon the occasion of  hosting  its  17th
Annual Cupid's Chase 5k Runs on Saturday, February 8, 2025; and

  WHEREAS, Community Options is a nonprofit organization that believes
in  the  dignity  of  every  person  and in the freedom of all people to
experience  the  highest  degree  of  self-determination;  it  currently
operates  over  50 offices across 12 states, reaching and impacting over
5,000 people with disabilities and their lives; and

  WHEREAS, Community Options focuses its support on  individuals  with
intellectual  disabilities  and  developmental disabilities such as Down
Syndrome,  Cerebral  Palsy,  Spina  Bifida,  Autism  Spectrum  Disorder,
Fragile X Syndrome, Prader-Willi, and traumatic brain injury; and

  WHEREAS,  Every  February,  this  national  race  series  celebrates
Community Options' founding in 1989; dedicated  volunteers  and  runners
raise   funds   and   awareness   to   support  housing  and  employment
opportunities for people with disabilities; and

  WHEREAS, This year, Community Options is hosting 48 Cupid's Chase 5k
races across the country, inviting runners, walkers, and  rollers  (baby
strollers  and  wheelchairs) to help raise funds to make a difference in
the lives of people with disabilities; and

  WHEREAS, This commendable organization is an asset to the  State  of
New  York,  honoring  fallen  heroes  with  diligence  and  grace  while
providing opportunities for community to grow and thrive together for  a
greater good; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Community Options, Inc. upon the occasion of  hosting  its  17th
Annual Cupid's Chase 5k Races on February 8, 2025; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Community Options, Inc.
