        LEGISLATIVE RESOLULTION honoring Bryant Postell upon
        the   occasion   of   his  designation  for  special
        recognition  at  the  Young,   Gifted,   and   Black
        Entrepreneurial  Awards  20th  Anniversary  Gala  on
        February 26, 2025

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body  to  honor  those
enduring  individuals  and  organizations  which devote their purposeful
energies to improving the quality and dignity  of  life  of  those  they
serve,  to preserving their heritage, and to fostering pride among them;
and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Bryant  Postell  upon  the  occasion  of  his  designation  for  special
recognition at the Young, Gifted, and Black Entrepreneurial Awards  20th
Anniversary  Gala  on  Wednesday,  February  26, 2025, at Terrace on the
Park, Queens, New York; and

  WHEREAS, The Young, Gifted, &  Black  (YGB)  Entrepreneurial  Awards
were  established  in  2006  by Carl Gray as a platform to spotlight and
celebrate everyday  individuals  who  serve  as  positive  role  models,
inspiring  their  peers through their accomplishments, perseverance, and
contributions; and

  WHEREAS, Carl Gray's vision for the YGB Entrepreneurial  Awards  has
remained  steadfast  in  ensuring  recognition  is  given to those whose
contributions, though not always highlighted in mainstream media, have a
profound and lasting influence within their fields and society; and

  WHEREAS, Honoree Bryant  Postell  is  a  co-owner  of  Prime  39  in
Lynbrook, and Prime on the Mile in Nautical Mile, Long Island, New York,
with  his  partners  Rocky  Jenkins,  Neil Bailey, and Rick Riddick; the
restauranteur's story is one of overcoming impediments relating  to  the
COVID-19  pandemic,  resulting in the thriving businesses he is involved
with today; and

  WHEREAS, Bryant Postell had to acquire  the  necessary  permits  and
approvals  to  build  out, operate, and convert the restaurant's kitchen
from electric to gas; he was battered by a multitude of roadblocks,  but
the  support  that  the  Lynbrook community gave to him during this time
offered him the charisma to keep moving forward; and

  WHEREAS, A testament to the American  dream,  Bryant  Postell  is  a
resilient individual and businessman, finding valuable lessons in moment
of hardship, resulting in the myriad of successes he has achieved today;
and

  WHEREAS,  Bryant  Postell  is  the  CEO  and  creator  of  the Black
Restaurant Coalition, a group established with  the  goal  of  providing
resources,  networking  events,  and  a  variety  of other opportunities
through training seminars to other  local  Black-owned  businesses;  its
mission  underscores  its  dedication  to  improving  the conditions for

small-business restaurant owners and their staff by seeking partnerships
with organizations committed to providing access  to  capital  for  said
businesses,  as well as promoting racial equality as a pathway to a more
inclusive economy; and

  WHEREAS,  What  began as a vehicle to help other business owners who
may be struggling find their way during the pandemic, now  serves  as  a
beacon of hope and valuable resources for all those involved; and

  WHEREAS,  A  result  of hard work and pride, in 2021, Bryant Postell
and his co-owners  won  the  Long  Island  Choice  Award  for  best  new
restaurant,   and   in   2022,  were  nominated  for  best  fine  dining
establishment; and

  WHEREAS, It is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that  those
individuals  and  organizations  which  give  positive definition to the
profile and disposition of the communities of the State of New York,  do
so  profoundly  strengthen  our  shared  commitment  to  the exercise of
freedom; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Bryant  Postell  upon  the  occasion  of  his/her designation for
special recognition at the  Young,  Gifted,  and  Black  Entrepreneurial
Awards  20th Anniversary Gala on Wednesday, February 26, 2025; and be it
further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Bryant Postell.
