        COMMENDING  President/CEO  Paula  Stopera upon the
        occasion  of  her  retirement  after  39  years   of
        distinguished  service  to  CAP  COM  Federal Credit
        Union

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative  Body  to  acknowledge
the  significant  milestones  in  the  distinguished careers of esteemed
residents of this noble Empire State; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
President/CEO Paula Stopera upon the occasion of her retirement after 39
years  of  distinguished  service  to CAP COM Federal Credit Union to be
celebrated at a party held in her honor on Thursday, March 14, 2019,  at
the Albany Marriott; she will officially retire in May of 2019; and

  WHEREAS,  CAP  COM  was  first  established  in  1953 as the Capital
District Telephone Employees Federal  Credit  Union  for  the  New  York
Telephone  Company  in  Albany,  New York; during that time, all banking
needs were handled by one person out of one desk drawer; and

  WHEREAS, More than six decades later, CAP COM has grown to more than
$1.5 billion in assets and its subsidiaries  service  an  additional  $1
billion in assets; and

  WHEREAS,  CAP COM, with locations throughout the Capital Region, has
more than 116,000 members and more than  700  companies  offer  CAP  COM
membership as a free employee benefit to their staff; and

  WHEREAS,  Paula Stopera began her illustrious career with CAP COM in
1980 as a member relationship officer, and has served as its  CEO  since
2004;  for  almost  four  decades, this extraordinary business woman has
devoted her time and energies to enhancing the lives of others; and

  WHEREAS, She leaves behind a significant legacy of loyal and devoted
service to the financial industry and the communities it serves; and

  WHEREAS, A tireless advocate for CAP COM members and the communities
in which they live, Paula  Stopera  has  served  with  intelligence  and
caring  dedication,  continuously  striving  to  effectively fulfill the
duties of her position; and

  WHEREAS, A role model for professional women and a champion  of  New
York's Capital Region, Paula Stopera will be remembered for her honesty,
integrity,  keen  sense  of  duty  and ability to show a unique grasp of
human problems in her official acts; and

  WHEREAS, It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that  when
individuals  of  such  noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the  citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor President/CEO Paula Stopera upon the occasion  of  her  retirement
after 39 years of distinguished service to CAP COM Federal Credit Union,
and to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Paula Stopera.
