        HONORING  John J. Piseck, Jr. upon the occasion of
        his  designation  as  recipient  of  the  Joseph  R.
        Carucci Legacy Award by the Genesis Group on October
        14, 2021

  WHEREAS,  Individuals  who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

  WHEREAS, John J. Piseck, Jr. has given not  only  of  his  time  and
energies  but  also  of  his competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly  proud  to  honor  John  J.
Piseck,  Jr.  upon  the  occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Joseph R.  Carucci Legacy Award by the Genesis Group to be celebrated at
its 20th Anniversary Luncheon on Thursday, October 14, 2021; and

  WHEREAS, This auspicious award is the Genesis Group's highest  honor
and  is  given  each  year  to  individuals  who  exemplifies  Joseph R.
Carucci's commitment to community; the founder of the Genesis Group  and
very  dedicated to his community, he passed away in 2010 after more than
40 years as a local developer and real estate broker; and

  WHEREAS, John J. Piseck,  Jr.  was  appointed  to  the  position  of
Executive  Director of the Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency
on February 18, 2018; since that time, he has continued to  aggressively
market  all  the  available  properties  in  each of the Herkimer County
Business Parks; and

  WHEREAS, Prior to his position at the IDA, John J. Piseck,  Jr.  was
employed  for  18  years as the Sales Engineer for CTM Corp.; this small
precision  machine  shop  in  Frankfort,  New  York,  is  credited  with
machining  parts  that were used on the NASA Phoenix Mars Lander and the
Mars SAM Project; and

  WHEREAS, During his time there, John J.  Piseck,  Jr.  was  able  to
institute new import and export Agreements with Israel and Canada; and

  WHEREAS,  From  2008-2011,  John  J.  Piseck,  Jr.  was  a  District
Legislator on the Herkimer County Board of  Legislators;  he  served  on
several  committees  including: Ways and Means, Planning and Development
(Chairman), Properties, IT, and Human Services; and

  WHEREAS, As a District Leader, John J.  Piseck,  Jr.  organized  the
first  Economic  Development  Day  in  the  county and implemented a new
marketing approach targeted at enticing companies to this area; and

  WHEREAS, John J. Piseck, Jr. also sits on numerous boards including:
NBT Bank Advisory Board (Mohawk  Valley  Region),  Mohawk  Valley  EDGE,
Herkimer   College   Quality  Assurance  Program  Advisory  Board,  MVCC
Manufacturing  Program  Advisory  Board  and  served  on  the  Board  of
Directors for the Creative Core; and


  WHEREAS,  This  extraordinary  man  is a former member of the Mohawk
Valley Economic Development  District,  and  was  also  instrumental  in
getting  Herkimer  County  to be considered a part of the New York State
Tech Valley; and

  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual  for  the  benefit  of  others  which John J. Piseck, Jr. has
displayed throughout his life; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  John  J.  Piseck,  Jr.  upon  the  occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Joseph R. Carucci Legacy Award by  the  Genesis  Group;
and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to John J. Piseck, Jr.
