Senate Resolution No. 2551 BY: Senator HARCKHAM MOURNING the death of Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr., beloved family man, devoted law enforcement officer, and distinguished member of his community WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who, through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive impact on the lives of its residents; Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. was one such individual; and WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this Legislative Body records the passing of Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr., noting the significance of his purposeful life and accomplishments; and WHEREAS, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. of Putnam Valley, New York, died on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the age of 42; and WHEREAS, Born on February 7, 1982, in the Bronx, New York, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. was the cherished son of Alfred and Julianne Torre-Mosiello and beloved younger brother of Dena; he grew up in Mahopac, New York, and graduated from Mahopac High School in 2000 where he was a defensive lineman on the football team (No. 71) for six years; and WHEREAS, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. continued his education and love for football at Hobart College, graduating in 2005 with an Associate's degree in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics/Finance, and forged lasting friendships in his fraternity, Kappa Sigma; and WHEREAS, In 2015, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. married the love of his life, Angela, with whom he shared 15 years of laughter, love, and companionship; together, they raised a beautiful family and created countless memories that will be cherished forever; and WHEREAS, A dedicated Police Officer known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. began his career with the Village of Pelham Manor Police Department in 2013; and WHEREAS, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. went on to join the Westchester County Police Department in 2021; he was also a member of the Patrol Services Division; he took great pride in his work and was respected by colleagues and friends, alike; and WHEREAS, Outside of work, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. found joy in hunting, tending to dogs and chickens, riding ATVs with his children, throwing pool parties, and often spending weekends with family and friends pursuing his passions; and WHEREAS, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. is most known for his uncanny ability to always rescue friends in need, regardless of time or place; there is nothing he would not do for a friend or family member in need; and WHEREAS, His personal life was marked by a profound love and commitment to his children, Jaxson and Isabella, a role model delighting in every moment spent with them and imparting wisdom and love at every opportunity; and WHEREAS, In addition, to his wife and children, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. is survived by his adored dog, Ruger; his parents, Alfred Sr. and Julie; and his sister, Dena (Andrew); and WHEREAS, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr.'s infinite selflessness and benevolence will shine on through his family's vivid and happy memories; his insight and strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light, and hope to the countless lives he touched; and WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of compassion, Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr. leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing man; he will be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to mourn the death of Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr., and to express its deepest condolences to his family; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the family of Alfred Robert Mosiello, Jr.
