Assembly Resolution No. 61

        COMMENDING  George  A. Ferone upon the occasion of
        his designation as recipient of the 36th  Annual  J.
        Walter   Juckett  Community  Service  Award  by  The
        Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce

  WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies  and  serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commend  George  A.  Ferone  upon  the  occasion  of  his designation as
recipient of the 36th Annual J. Walter Juckett Community  Service  Award
by  The  Adirondack  Regional Chamber of Commerce; he will be honored at
the ARCC Annual Dinner on the evening of March 7, 2025, at The  Sagamore
Resort; and

  WHEREAS,  The  J.  Walter  Juckett  Community  Service  Award is the
Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce's prestigious community  service
award,  given to recognize and honor an extraordinary individual who has
selflessly gone above and beyond by contributing time and energy to help
others; George A. Ferone is one such individual; and

  WHEREAS,  Founded  in  1914,  the  Adirondack  Regional  Chamber  of
Commerce  (ARCC)  is  a 100% membership funded organization representing
businesses in New York State's Washington, Warren,  Essex  and  Northern
Saratoga  Counties;  the  ARCC  is  a  501c6 not-for-profit corporation,
governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and  does  not  receive  any
funding  from  local,  county  or state governments; their mission is to
serve their members and business  community  through  advocacy  efforts,
education  opportunities, and the power of connection and collaboration;
and

  WHEREAS, George A. Ferone is a devoted and respected member  of  his
community,  known  both  for his spirit of selflessness and expertise in
business, retiring from Tribune Media Services, Inc. after an impressive
44 years of meaningful tenure; and

  WHEREAS, Dedicated to strengthening his community, George A.  Ferone
championed  the  construction  of a 40,000 square foot facility in Glens
Falls which led to the security of 400 jobs locally; and

  WHEREAS, George A. Ferone's unrelenting commitment to  community  is
evident  in  his active involvement with a myriad of organizations, such
as the Saratoga/Warren/Washington Counties Workforce  Investment  Board,
the Job Discovery Promotion & Planning Committees; and

  WHEREAS,  Further,  George  A. Ferone additionally gives of his time
working with Glens Falls Hospital, the Glens Falls Hospital  Foundation,
and  Albany  Med  Health Systems; his extensive service to his community
and state also includes serving as a board  member  for  the  Tri-County
United Way, Adirondack Civic Center Coalition, Prospect Child and Family
Center, and the Adirondack Hockey Coalition; and


  WHEREAS,  George  A.  Ferone  also  served  for 14 years on the ARCC
Board, including two terms as a  Chairman,  and  as  Interim  President,
during  which  time  he earned the esteem, respect, and reverence by all
those he had the privilege to work beside; and

  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual  for  the  benefit  of  others  which  George  A.  Ferone has
displayed throughout his life; and

  WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this  Legislative  Body
to  honor  and  support  those  individuals  who  have  displayed  their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the  intent
of  this  Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
George A.  Ferone, that future generations may know and  appreciate  his
admirable  character,  his  many  benevolent  deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commend  George  A.  Ferone  upon  the  occasion  of  his designation as
recipient of the 35th Annual J. Walter Juckett Community Service  Award;
and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to George A. Ferone.
