Assembly Resolution No. 72

        MOURNING the death of Roslyn Warlik, distinguished
        citizen and devoted member of her community

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of  New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life  in  their  communities  and  this
great Empire State; and

  WHEREAS,  Roslyn  Warlik  of  Rotterdam,  New  York, died on Sunday,
October 27, 2024, at the age of 82; and

  WHEREAS, Roslyn Warlik distinguished herself in her  profession  and
by her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
her community; and

  WHEREAS, Roslyn Warlik was born and raised in Schenectady to Anthony
and  Jean  (Di'Ambrosia)  Pompilio;  she  graduated  from the former Mt.
Pleasant High School in 1960, and then Bryant College  in  Rhode  Island
where  she  was  a member of the Student Senate and served as the editor
for the school paper, "The Spotlight"; and

  WHEREAS, Following her graduation, Roslyn Warlik went on to work  in
the Department of Transportation for the State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Roslyn  Warlik  enjoyed time with friends and family while
dedicating herself to service; she  served  as  president  of  the  High
Bridge  Civic Association and editor of its newsletter, "The High Bridge
Highlights"; and

  WHEREAS, Contributing locally  to  the  field  of  politics,  Roslyn
Warlik  was  the secretary of the Rotterdam Democratic Party and ran for
Town Board in 2007; additionally, she  worked  with  several  Democratic
committees   in  Rotterdam  and  for  Schenectady  County's  Senior  and
Long-Term Care department; she was also the  revered  president  of  the
CSEA  Retirees  Local  940  and  was  widely  admired for her widespread
dedication to her community; and

  WHEREAS, Roslyn Warlik's commitment to excellence, and her spirit of
humanity,  carried  over  into  all  fields  of  enterprise,   including
charitable and civic endeavors; and

  WHEREAS, Roslyn Warlik is survived by her two sons, Joseph F. Warlik
Jr.    (Stephanie)  and  Shawn  A  Warlik  (Tanya),  as  well  as  three
grandchildren, Paige, Dominick, and Emily; and

  WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a  sense  of
compassion,  Roslyn Warlik leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory  to  all  she
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Roslyn  Warlik,  distinguished  citizen  and  devoted
member of her community; and be it further


  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Roslyn Warlik.
