Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, 2 the assessor of the county of Nassau is hereby authorized to accept from 3 the Hindu Welfare Association of New York, Inc. an application for 4 exemption from real property taxes pursuant to section 420-a of the real 5 property tax law with respect to the 2014-2015 assessment roll for the 6 2014-2015 school taxes and 2015 general taxes for the parcel conveyed to 7 such organization located at 729 South Oyster Bay Road, in the hamlet of 8 Bethpage, town of Oyster Bay, county of Nassau, otherwise known as 9 Nassau county parcel ID section 46 block 370 lots 1A, 1B, 18, and 19. 10 If satisfied that such organization would otherwise be entitled to 11 such exemption if such organization had filed an application for 12 exemption by the appropriate taxable status date, the assessor, upon 13 approval by the Nassau county legislature, may make appropriate 14 correction to the subject rolls. If such exemption is granted and such 15 organization, therefore, shall have paid any tax with respect to the 16 subject rolls, the applicable governing body or tax department may, in EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. This act shall take effect immediately.
