STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 1941 2025-2026 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 14, 2025 ___________ Introduced by Sen. WEBER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to authorize a study on proposed improvements of state route 303 in the town of Orangetown, county of Rockland; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The department of transportation is hereby authorized and 2 directed to conduct a study on proposed improvements of state route 303 3 in the town of Orangetown, county of Rockland. 4 1. Such study shall address issues, including, but not limited to: 5 (a) The estimated total cost of new barrier installation; 6 (b) The estimated total cost of left-turn lanes; 7 (c) The impact of adjusting the timing of traffic lights and traffic 8 calming measures; 9 (d) The estimated duration of the project; 10 (e) The impact construction will have on local traffic patterns; 11 (f) The environmental impact of the project, represented in an envi- 12 ronmental impact statement, if such statement is required by law, or is 13 deemed warranted according to the discretion of the department of trans- 14 portation; and 15 (g) Identify areas for cooperation between agencies who have purview 16 over this project and/or relevant properties and solicit and incorporate 17 input from such agencies. 18 2. The department of transportation shall report such findings to the 19 governor and the legislature within one year after the effective date of 20 this act. 21 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire one year 22 after it shall have become a law when upon such date the provisions of 23 this act shall be deemed repealed.
