KRUGER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Housing, Construction and Community Development AN ACT to amend the public housing law, in relation to required instal- lation of carbon monoxide detectors THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. The public housing law is amended by adding a new section 2 152-a to read as follows: 3 S 152-A. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS; CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS. EACH AUTHORI- 4 TY SHALL INSTALL AND MAINTAIN A FUNCTIONING CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN 5 EVERY TENANT DWELLING UNIT, EXCLUDING THOSE DWELLING UNITS HAVING ELEC- 6 TRIC HEAT AS THEIR SOLE SOURCE OF HEAT. 7 S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of October next succeed- 8 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
