Bill Title: Requires the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, in consultation with the New York city transit authority, the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Company, to allow riders travelling within the limits of the city of New York to pay a fare for commuter rail service equal to that of a MetroCard ride and for such riders to make free transfers.

COMRIE, PARKER, PERKINS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Trans- portation AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to special powers of the authority The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 1266 of the public authorities law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 19 to read as follows: 3 19. Notwithstanding any other provision of law or the terms of any 4 contract, the authority, in consultation with the New York city transit 5 authority, the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Commuter Rail- 6 road Company, shall allow riders travelling within the limits of the 7 city of New York to pay a fare for commuter rail service equal to that 8 of a MetroCard ride on New York city transit subways and buses and for 9 such riders to make free transfers between said commuter rail and New 10 York city transit subways and buses. 11 § 2.
