       AN ACT to direct the New York state office of real property services  to
         develop  a  program  to  determine  eligibility  for the enhanced STAR
         exemption without necessitating the collection of personal information
         by the assessor
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
    2  the  New  York state office of real property services is hereby directed
    3  to develop a program which provides for the determination of eligibility
    4  for the enhanced STAR exemption pursuant to subdivision 4 of section 425
    5  of the real property  tax  law,  without  requiring  the  collection  of
    6  personal  information  or  documentation, including, but not limited to,
    7  social security numbers, income tax returns or other income verification
    8  information by the assessor.
    9    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
