SAVINO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee -- recommitted to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions in accordance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the retirement and social security law, in relation to restricting the public employment of retired persons from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2018 The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subparagraph 2 of paragraph (b) of subdivision 2 of section 2 211 of the retirement and social security law, as amended by chapter 640 3 of the laws of 2008, is amended and a new subdivision 9 is added to read 4 as follows: 5 (2) that he or she will earn more than one thousand dollars in one 6 year, including compensation earned in such position under other 7 provisions of this article that there are not readily available for 8 recruitment persons qualified to perform the duties of such position; 9 [and (4)];] 10 9. No approvals granted under this section shall be permitted from 11 January first, two thousand seventeen through December thirty-first, two 12 thousand eighteen. 13 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however this 14 act shall not apply to individuals to whom approvals were granted prior 15 to the effective date of this act.
