YOUNG -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to expanding the Western New York Southtowns scenic byway THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Paragraph (j-10) of subdivision 1 of section 349-dd of the 2 highway law, as added by chapter 248 of the laws of 2008, is amended to 3 read as follows: 4 (j-10) The Western New York Southtowns scenic byway which shall 5 consist of all that portion of the highway system beginning at the 6 intersection of state route four hundred and United States route twen- 7 ty-A (Quaker road) in the village of East Aurora, town of Aurora, Erie 8 county, westerly along United States route twenty-A to the Big Tree road 9 and United States route twenty-A interchange with United States route 10 two hundred nineteen in the town of Orchard Park, Erie county, then 11 continuing southerly along United States route two hundred nineteen, 12 through the towns of Boston and Concord AND THE VILLAGE OF SPRINGVILLE, 13 Erie county, [to the Springville and route thirty-nine interchange, then 14 easterly along state route thirty-nine, through the village of Spring- 15 ville] AND THE TOWN OF ASHFORD, CATTARAUGUS COUNTY, TO THE INTERSECTION 16 WITH STATE ROUTE TWO HUNDRED FORTY-TWO IN THE TOWN OF ELLICOTTVILLE, 17 CATTARAUGUS COUNTY, THEN CONTINUING WESTERLY ALONG UNITED STATES ROUTE 18 TWO HUNDRED NINETEEN AND STATE ROUTE TWO HUNDRED FORTY-TWO TO THE 19 VILLAGE OF ELLICOTTVILLE, THEN CONTINUING SOUTHERLY ON UNITED STATES 20 ROUTE TWO HUNDRED NINETEEN TO THE TOWN OF ELLICOTTVILLE TOWN LINE, WHICH 21 SHALL BE THE TERMINUS OF THIS PORTION OF THE BYWAY; SUCH BYWAY SHALL 22 ALSO INCLUDE ALL THAT PORTION OF THE HIGHWAY SYSTEM BEGINNING AT THE 23 INTERSECTION OF UNITED STATES ROUTE TWO HUNDRED NINETEEN AND STATE ROUTE 24 TWO HUNDRED FORTY-TWO IN THE TOWN OF ELLICOTTVILLE, CATTARAUGUS COUNTY, 25 NORTHEASTERLY ALONG STATE ROUTE TWO HUNDRED FORTY-TWO to the inter- EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD08919-02-5 S. 5326 2 1 section with state route two hundred forty IN THE TOWN OF ELLICOTTVILLE, 2 then northerly along state route two hundred forty, through THE TOWNS OF 3 ASHFORD AND ELLICOTTVILLE, CATTARAGUS COUNTY AND the towns of Concord 4 and Colden, Erie county, to the intersection with county road forty-sev- 5 en (Mill road) in the town of Aurora, then northeasterly along county 6 road forty-seven, reconnecting with United States route twenty-A in the 7 town of Aurora, and an alternate route beginning at the state road one 8 hundred seventy-nine (Mile Strip road) intersection with state road two 9 hundred seventy-seven (Chestnut Ridge road, Boston Ridge road) in the 10 town of Orchard Park, southerly along state road two hundred seventy- 11 seven to the intersection with state road three hundred ninety-one and 12 Boston State road, continuing southerly along the Boston State road 13 through the town of Boston, continuing southerly along the Springville 14 Boston road through the town of Concord, then continuing southerly on 15 Buffalo street in the village of Springville where it reconnects with 16 state route thirty-nine, AND THAT PORTION OF STATE ROUTE THIRTY-NINE IN 17 THE VILLAGE OF SPRINGVILLE BETWEEN UNITED STATES ROUTE TWO HUNDRED NINE- 18 TEEN AND STATE ROUTE TWO HUNDRED FORTY. 19 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
