AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to directing the
commissioner of health to produce a report on the best practices for
the management and treatment of mild traumatic brain injuries in chil-
dren and adolescents
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1 Section 1. Section 206 of the public health law is amended by adding a
2 new subdivision 29 to read as follows:
3 29. WITHIN NINETY DAYS OF THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS SUBDIVISION, THE
4 COMMISSIONER SHALL PRODUCE AND PUBLISH, AND PERIODICALLY UPDATE, A
5 REPORT ON THE BEST PRACTICES FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND TREATMENT OF MILD
6 TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES, INCLUDING CONCUSSIONS, IN CHILDREN AND ADOLES-
7 CENTS. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL POST SUCH REPORT ON THE DEPARTMENT'S INTER-
8 NET WEBSITE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE INFORMATION REQUIRED TO BE POSTED
9 THEREON PURSUANT TO SUBDIVISION FORTY-TWO OF SECTION THREE HUNDRED FIVE
10 OF THE EDUCATION LAW.
11 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
