  Modifies statute of limitations applicable to civil actions
arising out of commission of certain crimes.

                        A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to crime; creating new provisions; and amending ORS
  147.065.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
  SECTION 1. ORS 147.065 is amended to read:
  147.065. Notwithstanding ORS 12.110 the victim of any
compensable crime as defined in ORS 147.005 or the victim's
representative may bring an action at any time within the
  { - five-year - }   { + six-year + } period after the
commission of the compensable crime.
  SECTION 2.  { + The amendments to ORS 147.065 by section 1 of
this 2013 Act apply to crimes committed on or after the effective
date of this 2013 Act. + }
