A house RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE PASTOR AND CONGREGATION OF AGAPE WORSHIP CENTER INTERNATIONAL CHURCH OF GOD AS THEY CELEBRATE TWENTY YEARS OF MINISTRY IN THE COLUMBIA COMMUNITY.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Agape Worship Center International Church of God is celebrating its twentieth anniversary; and
Whereas, Bishop Vincent D. Collins has pastored at Agape Worship Center International Church of God for nineteen years; and
Whereas, known for his ability to communicate biblical truth in a down to earth manner, Bishop Collins practices a philosophy for ministry of loving God, loving people, and reaching the world; and
Whereas, a native of Winter Haven, Florida, Bishop Collins has served God through ministries in Germany, Korea, Maryland, and now as the senior pastor of the Agape Worship Center in Columbia; and
Whereas, Bishop Collins earned a bachelor's degree from Voorhees College and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Leadership from Columbia International University, and he is currently working on a dissertation for a doctorate in Pastoral Leadership; and
Whereas, in the patriotic tradition of the sons of South Carolina, he served with distinction in the United States Army for twenty-two years, retiring at the rank First Sergeant in 2002; and
Whereas, Bishop Collins serves on the Church Ministries Board for the State of South Carolina Church of God, and he serves on the Church Plant Advisory Committee for South Carolina and on the Pastor Advisory Committee for Ministry to the Military, International Church of God; and
Whereas, he has served as an evangelist, youth pastor, and district overseer, and because of his anointed preaching, he is often sought to preach for revivals, conferences, and camp meetings; and
Whereas, devoted to his community, Bishop Collins is a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Columbia; and
Whereas, together with his beloved wife of thirty-nine years, Christle, he reared a fine daughter, Christy Nicholson, who resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is deeply grateful for the significant ministry of Agape Worship Center for two decades, and the members wish Bishop Collins and the congregation many more years of spiritual service. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the pastor and congregation of Agape Worship Center International Church of God as they celebrate twenty years of ministry in the Columbia community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Bishop Vincent D. Collins, Senior Pastor of Agape Worship Center International Church of God.
