A house RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE ELIZABETH ANCONE UPON BEING NAMED THE 2024-2025 DEERFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER OF THE YEAR IN LEXINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE AND TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION FOR HER DEDICATED SERVICE TO CHILDREN.

Whereas, it is altogether fitting that the House of Representatives should pause in its deliberations to honor Elizabeth Ancone, Deerfield Elementary 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, for providing students the opportunity to live complete and successful lives as the future leaders of their communities; and

Whereas, each school's Teacher of the Year undergoes rigorous screening and assessment in order to be selected as the school's top teacher. Representing all teachers in his or her respective school, the teacher of the year acts as a role model and mentor for school colleagues and demonstrates a consistent commitment to excellence; and

Whereas, Elizabeth Ancone earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of South Carolina in 2000 and a master's degree in teaching from the College of Charleston in 2003. She has taught elementary, middle, and high school students in Saluda, Richland One, and Newberry school districts before coming to Lexington One. With twenty years of teaching experience, she has a proven ability to make a positive difference for her students, schools, and communities; and

Whereas, when she is not educating and molding South Carolina's youth, this dedicated and caring teacher enjoys gardening and traveling. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Elizabeth Ancone upon being named the 2024-2025 Deerfield Elementary School Teacher of the Year in Lexington School District One and express appreciation for her dedicated service to children.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Elizabeth Ancone.
