A house RESOLUTION
TO CELEBRATE THE LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITIVE CHEER SQUAD, ITS COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR A STELLAR SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING THE 2024 CLASS AAAAA DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the Lexington High School competitive cheer squad took top honors at the state cheer competition, held at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia on Saturday, November 23, 2024; and
Whereas, to the delight of their exuberant fans, the Lexington High Lady Wildcats bested all comers to earn the state title with a score of 331 points, four ahead of rival River Bluff; and
Whereas, further, Lexington extended its winning record at the state competition by taking home the Lady Wildcats' third state championship title in the last five seasons; and
Whereas, in a sport that requires precision, grace, and strength, Head Coach Leigh Watson and Assistant Coach Murray Cromer capitalized on their own experience and passion to shape a championship-caliber team. Together, they taught their athletes lessons that will prove invaluable throughout life, both on and off the mats; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House appreciate the pride and recognition the Lexington cheerleaders have brought to their school and community and look to hear of their continued achievements in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, celebrate the Lexington High School competitive cheer squad, its coaches, and school officials for a stellar season and congratulate them on winning the 2024 Class AAAAA Division I State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Jennifer McNair and Head Coach Leigh Watson of Lexington High School.
