A concurrent RESOLUTION

 

TO EXPRESS THE SINCERE GRATITUDE OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE state's hospitality industry, the south carolina restaurant anD lodging association and to participating restaurants and sponsors WHO GENEROUSLY OFFER UP their time and THE TASTIEST OF SOUTHERN CUISINE ON THE GROUNDS OF THE STATE HOUSE AT THE SOUTH CAROLINA RESTAURANT AND LODGING ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL hospitality day.

 

Whereas, on Hospitality Day at the State House, to be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association will feature some of the state's most popular restaurants, as well as several impressive public high school culinary programs, to produce the association's "A Taste of South Carolina" legislative luncheon; and

 

Whereas, the annual event is presented by the hospitality industry of South Carolina consisting of association members located around the State, and serves as a backdrop for industry leaders, legislators and their staff to celebrate the successes of the industry and the collaboration between State and industry leaders in sustaining positive growth of the hospitality industry and the significant economic impact the industry has on our State; and

 

Whereas, there are over 11,500 dining and lodging establishments across South Carolina, employing over 265,000 individuals; and

 

Whereas, South Carolina's hospitality industry has an annual $17.4 billion economic impact on our State, supporting 1 in 10 jobs; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly is pleased to pause in the midst of its deliberations to welcome these businesses to the State House and to acknowledge their generous acts and vital importance to the economy of this great State. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

 

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, express their sincere gratitude to the state's hospitality industry, the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association and to participating restaurants and sponsors who generously offer up their time and the tastiest of Southern cuisine on the grounds of the State House at the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association's annual Hospitality Day.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association.
