A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE AND HONOR THE HONORABLE EDDIE LEE, FORMER MAYOR OF THE CITY OF YORK, FOR HIS SEVENTEEN YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF YORK CITY COUNCIL AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, for seventeen years, the City of York enjoyed the benefit of the commitment, experience, and leadership of the Honorable Eddie Lee, former mayor and member of York City Council; and

Whereas, during his years of service, this well-respected Winthrop University history professor oversaw the renovation of the historic York County Courthouse and the building of the new York County administrative offices. Both buildings are in downtown York and are crucial to the city's economy and importance as county seat; and

Whereas, Dr. Lee also strove to maintain the city's transparency and resident service during his seventeen years at the helm of city government; and

Whereas, in addition to his long service in the weighty matters of city government, Eddie Lee has served his city using one of his lighter talents, as demonstrated by his annual tradition of appearing as Santa Claus in York's Christmas parade; and

Whereas, appreciative of the legacy of consistent excellence and dedication Eddie Lee has bestowed on the people of South Carolina, most particularly those of York County, the House takes great pleasure in wishing him all the best in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
