A house RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE LILLIE MAE GANTT BRYANT ON THE OCCASION OF HER RECENT NINETIETH BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY AFTERGLOW AND MUCH HAPPINESS IN THE DAYS AHEAD.
Whereas, on April 8, 2024, Lillie Mae Gantt Bryant awakened to the celebration of a milestone event: her ninetieth birthday; and
Whereas, the daughter of George and Gussie Gantt, Lillie Mae Bryant came into this world on April 8, 1934; and
Whereas, on October 6, 1953, the young Lillie Mae married Willie B. Bryant, and the Lord blessed their union with a fine family of six children: Willie L. Bryant, Ronald L. Bryant, Joyce M. Bryant Crouder, Deborah A. Bryant Baston, Michael R. Bryant, and Russell S. Bryant. Over the years, seventeen grandchildren have been added to the family, and further blessing has ensued with the arrival of thirty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and
Whereas, at an early age, this woman of faith joined Batesburg's Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she has been honored with the title of Mother of the Church. Her long years of membership at Mount Zion have seen her serving in many capacities. A member of the Floral Society for forty-eight years, she serves as an advisor to the society and creates, installs, and maintains floral arrangements. She also has led many to faith in Christ and discipled them, thus laying a foundation for their impact on the world; and
Whereas, other past and present church activities include service as financial clerk, member of the Mount Zion Pastor's Advisory Board and the church's missionary society, and Sunday School teacher; and
Whereas, during her working years, Lillie Mae Bryant served as a production worker at the Padgett Poultry Plant, an assembly worker at Saluda Hosiery Mill, an assembly technician at Wellington Synthetic Fibers, and a Michelin Tires X-ray technician, the latter position from which she retired after twenty-two years of service; and
Whereas, it is a great pleasure to honor this lovely lady at the celebration of her ninetieth birthday, and the House is pleased to join with her family and friends in congratulating her on reaching this important life milestone. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Lillie Mae Gantt Bryant on the occasion of her recent ninetieth birthday and wish her a joyous birthday afterglow and much happiness in the days ahead.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Lillie Mae Gantt Bryant.
