A senate RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE CATHY DIANNE COLLUM UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HER FOR HER TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CHARLESTON COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION, AND TO WISH HER MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Cathy Dianne Collum upon the occasion of her retirement from the Charleston County Legislative Delegation on March 17, 2023; and
Whereas, a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Cathy and her family eventually moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where most of her extended family still resides. She attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh and Trident Technical College in Charleston; and
Whereas, Cathy began her employment with the Charleston County Legislative Delegation on February 27, 1995 and now proudly serves as Legislative Coordinator for the twenty-one members of the South Carolina Senate and House of Representatives serving Charleston County. Cathy has provided twenty-eight years of outstanding and dedicated service to the Charleston County Legislative Delegation, including the last sixteen years as Legislative Coordinator; and
Whereas, a devout Christian, Cathy is a member of Fellowship of Oakbrook Church in Summerville, where she is active in the women's ministry and Bible study; and
Whereas, Cathy has one son, Barton Cummings, and is the proud grandmother of Bryson, Koral, and Brody Cummings and Colton Chirillo; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Cathy Collum has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Cathy Dianne Collum upon the occasion of her retirement, commend her for her twenty-eight years of dedicated service, and wish her much happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Cathy Collum.
