A senate RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE the Six Mile Masonic Lodge #339 UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS one hundredth ANNIVERSARY AND TO COMMEND the lodge FOR ITS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize the Six Mile Masonic Lodge #339 in Pickens County as it celebrates this important milestone; and
Whereas, the Six Mile Masonic Lodge #339 first opened on May 6, 1923. The founding charter members were members in good standing at Tate Lodge in Norris. They walked from Norris to Six Mile and opened a lodge, then walked back to Norris and closed the lodge. The lodge has held their regular meetings at Six Mile ever since; and
Whereas, the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina approved the official charter for the lodge on May 15, 1923, at a regular communication of Grand Lodge; and
Whereas, upon the occasion of the lodge's centennial anniversary, the Grandmaster of South Carolina, Steven D. Hames, and his Grand officers will rededicate the lodge with a cornerstone ceremony; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment of the Six Mile Masonic Lodge #339 to serving the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Six Mile Masonic Lodge #339 upon the occasion of its one hundredth anniversary and commend the lodge for its many years of dedicated service to the people and the State of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Worshipful Master George P. Cobb III.
