The bill would amend the Local Government Code to prohibit municipalities and property owners' associations from prohibiting certain food production activities on single-family residential lots.
Local Government Impact
According to the City of Plano, the bill would have an estimated ongoing annual cost of $68,087 for an additional Animal Services Officer FTE and a one-time cost of $7,500 for a commercial coop for housing animals. The impact on other municipalities cannot be determined due to a lack of responses.
