No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to provide that a hospital with a children's isolation unit that has instituted isolation protocols is not liable for any claim, damage, or loss arising from the provision of health care services to children with highly contagious diseases, unless the act or omission proximately causing the claim, damage, or loss constitutes gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
