IN RE: |
SB820 by Kolkhorst (Relating to the registration of vision support organizations; imposing a fee; requiring an occupational registration; providing a civil penalty.), As Introduced |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Business & Commercial Code related to the registration of vision support organizations (VSOs). It would require that certain VSOs who failed to file or correct a registration would be liable to the state for a civil penalty. The Secretary of State (SOS) would be required to collect fees for the registration of VSOs and the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) would be required to pursue the collection of assessed civil penalties.
According to SOS, provisions of the bill related to the registration of VSOs could be accomplished with existing resources.
According to the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated.
According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, the fiscal impact on the state cannot be estimated.
It is presumed that collection of any civil penalties assessed by SOS could be accomplished by OAG with existing resources.
Local Government Impact
