IN RE: |
SB886 by Blanco (Relating to the provision of citizenship assistance to veterans by the Texas Veterans Commission.), As Introduced |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Texas Veterans Commission to provide citizenship assistance by evaluating a veteran's citizenship status, upon request, and educating the veteran on becoming a United States citizen and assist in facilitating the naturalization process.
This analysis assumes there would be a minimal cost associated with implementing the provisions of the bill that could be
absorbed within current resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
