| relating to the definition of regular eligible student for purposes | ||
| of the transportation allotment under the Foundation School | ||
| Program. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 48.151(b)(1), Education Code, is amended | ||
| to read as follows: | ||
| (1) "Regular eligible student" means a student who: | ||
| (A) resides two or more miles from the student's | ||
| campus of regular attendance, regardless of whether the student | ||
| resides in the attendance zone of that campus, measured along the | ||
| shortest route that may be traveled on public roads, and who is not | ||
| classified as a student eligible for special education services; or | ||
| (B) is a homeless child or youth, as defined by 42 | ||
| U.S.C. Section 11434a. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
