| district for the 2021-2022 school year. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 48.005, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (d-2) to read as follows: | ||
| (d-2) Notwithstanding other law, for the 2021-2022 school | ||
| year, each school district shall be funded on the basis of the | ||
| greater of the average daily attendance in the district for the | ||
| 2018-2019 school year or the 2021-2022 school year. This | ||
| subsection expires September 1, 2023. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | ||
| legislative session. | ||
