BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter I, Chapter 51, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 51.808 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 51.808. EXEMPTION FROM ELECTRONIC FILING FEES. An | ||
attorney licensed to practice law in this state who is a solo | ||
practitioner is exempt from a fee imposed for the electronic filing | ||
of documents under this subchapter by a district or county clerk, a | ||
clerk of a court of appeals, or a vendor contracting to provide | ||
electronic filing services for the district, county, or court of | ||
appeals. | ||
SECTION 2. Section 51.808, Government Code, as added by | ||
this Act, applies only to a fee imposed for the electronic filing of | ||
documents on or after the effective date of this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
