| relating to the posting of certain information regarding programs | ||
| of study offered under a school district's career and technology | ||
| education program. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 29, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 29.186 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 29.186. POSTING OF INFORMATION ON PROGRAMS OF STUDY. | ||
| (a) Using information provided under Subsection (b), a school | ||
| district shall maintain on the district's Internet website the | ||
| following information for each program of study offered under the | ||
| district's career and technology education program: | ||
| (1) labor market information relating to jobs to which | ||
| the program of study is designed to lead, including: | ||
| (A) the growth rate of those jobs; | ||
| (B) the median annual salary for those jobs; and | ||
| (C) any courses of study, degree requirements, or | ||
| other educational requirements necessary to obtain those jobs; and | ||
| (2) the industry-based certifications that may be | ||
| obtained through the program of study. | ||
| (b) The Texas Workforce Commission, with assistance from | ||
| the agency, shall biennially produce and make available to each | ||
| school district the labor market information described by | ||
| Subsection (a)(1) for each program of study offered under a | ||
| district's career and technology education program. | ||
| (c) The commissioner may adopt rules as necessary to | ||
| implement this section. | ||
| SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | ||
| of this Act, each school district shall comply with the | ||
| requirements under Section 29.186, Education Code, as added by this | ||
| Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | ||
