relating to the period for which an emergency educator certificate | ||
is valid. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 21.041, Education Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | ||
(b-1) The board's rules relating to emergency certificates | ||
must provide that an emergency certificate is valid for a period of | ||
not less than three years. | ||
SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | ||
of this Act, the State Board for Educator Certification shall | ||
propose rules relating to emergency educator certificates | ||
implementing Section 21.041(b-1), Education Code, as added by this | ||
Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
