relating to the amount of an expenditure that may be paid by an | ||
emergency services district employee without board approval. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 775.073(b), Health and Safety Code, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
(b) The board by resolution may allow a district employee | ||
who has executed a bond in an amount equal to the amount required | ||
for the district treasurer to sign an instrument to disburse | ||
district funds. An expenditure of more than $50,000 [ |

not be paid unless the expenditure is presented to the board and the | ||
board approves the expenditure. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
to a purchase made on or after the effective date of this Act. A | ||
purchase made before the effective date of this Act is governed by | ||
the law as it existed immediately before the effective date of this | ||
Act, and that law is continued in effect for that purpose. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
