relating to the board of the Lubbock Reese Development Authority. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 3501.051(a), Special District Local Laws | ||
Code, is amended to read as follows: | ||
(a) The board is composed of: | ||
(1) five directors appointed by the governing body of | ||
the City of Lubbock from a list of persons recommended by the board | ||
under this section; | ||
(2) one director appointed by the commissioners court | ||
of Lubbock County from a list of persons recommended by the board | ||
under this section; and | ||
(3) the executive director of [ |

SECTION 2. Section 3501.052, Special District Local Laws | ||
Code, is amended by amending Subsections (a) and (c) and adding | ||
Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
(a) A director serves a term of four years. [ |

(c) Except as provided by Subsection (d), a [ |
||
be appointed as the director's own successor for not more than one | ||
term. | ||
(d) A director appointed to fill a vacancy for an unexpired | ||
term shall serve for the remainder of that term and may be appointed | ||
as the director's own successor for not more than two terms. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
