A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to limiting the number of sessions in which a member may
  serve as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 302.0121, Texas Government Code, is
  amended by adding subsection (f) to read as follows:
         (f)  No speaker candidate shall be permitted to file a
  declaration of candidacy with the Texas Ethics Commission if the
  speaker candidate has already served as speaker of the house of
  representatives for two complete regular sessions of the
  legislature.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
