relating to limiting the number of sessions in which a member may | ||
serve as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 302.0121, Texas Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(f) No speaker candidate shall be permitted to file a | ||
declaration of candidacy with the Texas Ethics Commission if the | ||
speaker candidate has already served as speaker of the house of | ||
representatives for two complete regular sessions of the | ||
legislature. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
