relating to the requirement for a report by a state agency on the | ||
request for a study from an institution of higher education. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Chapter 2052, Government Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subchapter E to read as follows: | ||
SUBCHAPTER E. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS | ||
Sec. 2052.351. DEFINITIONS. In this subchapter: | ||
(1) "Institution of higher education" has the meaning | ||
assigned by Section 61.003, Education Code. | ||
(2) "State agency" means a department, commission, | ||
board, office, council, authority, or other agency in the | ||
executive, judicial, or legislative branch of state government that | ||
is created by the constitution or a statute of this state. | ||
Sec. 2052.352. REPORT TO LEGISLATURE ON STUDY REQUEST. A | ||
state agency that requests the performance of a study from an | ||
institution of higher education shall, not later than the 30th day | ||
after the date of the request, submit to the legislature a report | ||
including: | ||
(1) a summary of the subject and purpose of the study; | ||
(2) the institution of higher education from which the | ||
study was requested; and | ||
(3) the anticipated cost of the study. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
