relating to the waiver of requirements for removing a person's | ||
license from inactive status during a state of disaster. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 301.261, Occupations Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: | ||
(d-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (d) and as necessary to | ||
mitigate a nursing workforce shortage caused by a state of | ||
disaster, the board shall waive a requirement that a person pay a | ||
reactivation fee or complete any required continuing education to | ||
remove the person's license from inactive status if the license has | ||
been on inactive status for less than four years. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
