BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 35, Utilities Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 35.0022 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 35.0022. SERVICE INTERRUPTION NOTIFICATIONS. (a) | ||
This section applies only to a provider of electric generation | ||
service described by Section 35.0021(a). | ||
(b) The commission by rule shall require a provider of | ||
electric generation service to provide to the independent | ||
organization certified under Section 39.151 for the ERCOT power | ||
region notice of each planned or unplanned service interruption | ||
within a reasonable time after the interruption of the service has | ||
impacted generation availability. The independent organization | ||
shall make each notice publicly available. | ||
(c) The notice described by Subsection (b) shall state the | ||
reasons for the planned or unplanned service interruption and may | ||
be provided in any reasonable manner, including by e-mail or an | ||
electronic interface on the provider's Internet website. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
