A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to certain fees assessed by a community supervision and
corrections department; changing a fee.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 76.015(c), Government Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(c) A department may assess a reasonable administrative fee
of not less than $25 and not more than $60 per month on an individual
under supervision who:
(1) participates in a program operated by [the
department] or receives services from:
(A) the department;
(B) a regional pretrial services agency; or
(C) a county pretrial services agency; and
(2) [who] is not paying a monthly fee under Section 19,
Article 42.12, Code of Criminal Procedure.
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to a
person placed on community supervision on or after the effective
date of this Act, regardless of when the person committed the
offense for which the person is placed on community supervision.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
