relating to a tenant's provision of notice to a landlord for a | ||
repair or remedy through an online apartment portal. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 92.052(d), Property Code, is amended to | ||
read as follows: | ||
(d) The tenant's notice under Subsection (a): | ||
(1) must be in writing only if the tenant's lease is in | ||
writing and requires written notice; and | ||
(2) may be provided by the tenant to the landlord | ||
through an online apartment portal, if one is maintained by the | ||
landlord and rent is paid through the portal. | ||
SECTION 2. Section 92.052(d), Property Code, as amended by | ||
this Act, applies only to a lease agreement entered into or renewed | ||
on or after the effective date of this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
