relating to expedited licensing procedures for certain nurses who | ||
are military spouses. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 301, Occupations Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 301.262 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 301.262. EXPEDITED LICENSE PROCEDURES FOR CERTAIN | ||
APPLICANTS. (a) The board shall establish procedures to expedite | ||
the issuance of a temporary license under Section 301.260 and to | ||
expedite the processing of an application for a permanent license | ||
under this subchapter for an applicant who is licensed as a | ||
registered nurse or vocational nurse by another state and who is the | ||
spouse of a person who is serving on active duty as a member of the | ||
armed forces of the United States. | ||
(b) The board shall specify in the procedures established | ||
under Subsection (a) the appropriate documentation to establish an | ||
applicant's status as a spouse of a person who is serving on active | ||
duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
