A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to law enforcement agency investigations of certain
  reports of child abuse or neglect.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 261, Family Code, is
  amended by adding Section 261.317 to read as follows:
         Sec. 261.317.  LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATION FOLLOWING
  REMOVAL OF CHILD. If a child who is the subject of a report of abuse
  or neglect is removed from the child's home, the department shall
  notify the local law enforcement agency of the removal and the local
  law enforcement agency shall conduct its own investigation of the
  report of abuse or neglect.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
