| relating to a tenant's receipt of a security deposit refund. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 92.103, Property Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
| (d) The tenant is entitled to receive the refund of a | ||
| security deposit in the tenant's choice of: | ||
| (1) a check, money order, or other traceable or | ||
| negotiable instrument; or | ||
| (2) a credit applied to the form of payment used to pay | ||
| the security deposit, including a credit card or other electronic | ||
| payment method. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
