relating to the grant amount awarded to certain moving image | ||
projects under the moving image industry incentive program. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 485, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 485.0245 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 485.0245. GRANT AMOUNT FOR CERTAIN MOVING IMAGE | ||
PROJECTS. (a) This section applies only to the following moving | ||
image projects with in-state spending of at least $3.5 million: | ||
(1) a feature film; | ||
(2) a television program; | ||
(3) a visual effect project for a feature film or | ||
television program; or | ||
(4) a digital interactive media production. | ||
(b) In calculating the amount of a grant awarded under | ||
Section 485.024, a moving image project described by Subsection (a) | ||
is eligible for a grant amount equal to at least 30 percent of: | ||
(1) the total amount of the project's eligible | ||
in-state spending, excluding wages of persons who are employed for | ||
the project; and | ||
(2) notwithstanding Section 485.024, the amount of | ||
wages the project paid to state residents employed to work in-state | ||
on the project. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
