| relating to the creation of an Internet website clearinghouse for | ||
| school districts to post information to comply with publication | ||
| requirements. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 7, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 7.042 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 7.042. INTERNET WEBSITE CLEARINGHOUSE FOR SCHOOL | ||
| DISTRICT INFORMATION. (a) The agency shall develop and maintain an | ||
| Internet website clearinghouse, separate from the agency's | ||
| Internet website, for the public to access school district and | ||
| campus reports, notices, and other information that a school | ||
| district or campus is required by law to publish. | ||
| (b) The agency shall create a web page for each school | ||
| district on the Internet website clearinghouse. Each school | ||
| district may post on the district's web page on the website any | ||
| report, notice, or other information that the district is required | ||
| to publish. Each school district may designate district personnel | ||
| with authority to enter reports, notices, and other information on | ||
| the district's web page. | ||
| (c) Notwithstanding any other law, a school district that | ||
| posts a report, notice, or other information on the district's web | ||
| page on the Internet website clearinghouse created under this | ||
| section that is required by law to be published by a school district | ||
| or campus satisfies that publication requirement if the report, | ||
| notice, or information remains posted for the period as prescribed | ||
| by law. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2015. | ||
