| relating to the membership of the State Board of Dental Examiners. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 252.001, Occupations Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (a-1) One of the members appointed under Subsection (a)(1) | ||
| must be a pediatric dentist. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 252.001, Occupations Code, as amended by | ||
| this Act, applies only to a member of the State Board of Dental | ||
| Examiners appointed on or after the effective date of this Act. A | ||
| member appointed before the effective date of this Act may continue | ||
| to serve until the expiration of the member's term. As vacancies | ||
| occur on the board on and after the effective date of this Act, the | ||
| governor shall appoint members having the qualifications required | ||
| by the changes in law made by this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
