| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Sections 211.013(c) and (d), Local Government | ||
| Code, are amended to read as follows: | ||
| (c) This subchapter does not apply to a building, other | ||
| structure, or land under the control, administration, or | ||
| jurisdiction of a political subdivision of the state or a state or | ||
| federal agency. | ||
| (d) This subchapter applies to a privately owned building or | ||
| other structure and privately owned land when leased to a political | ||
| subdivision of the state or a state agency. | ||
| SECTION 2. Section 214.904, Local Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | ||
| (e) Each municipality shall adopt procedures for expediting | ||
| the processing of an application for a permit submitted under this | ||
| section by an independent school district. | ||
| SECTION 3. Not later than December 31, 2017, each | ||
| municipality shall adopt expedited procedures for processing | ||
| school district permit applications as required by Section | ||
| 214.904(e), Local Government Code, as added by this Act. | ||
| SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
